the classic crime

In this post I will be describing the top three classic articles of clothing that every classy woman should have in her closet, she should also realize that not only should fashion be affordable, it should be versatile. So here is the list:

1. the blazer
Roll up the sleeves during the summer for a cool preppy look, and layer it with a sweatshirt in the winter, this is really the most versatile article of clothing that you can own in your wardrobe. You can dress it up or dress it down, but it will always look classic

2. the nude heel
This classic shoe choice is a timeless piece to have in your wardrobe. Just like the blazer, you can either dress it up, or dress it down but it will always look clean and put together. This is one item in your closet that you should spend a little more on to get a comfortable and stylish heel. It looks great with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans or glammed up with a stylish dress. The nice thing about nude heels are, you can wear any type of color (like either warm or cooler colors) with them and it will look great!

3. the base layer
To every good outfit there is a base layer, a starting blank canvas for statement pieces to be placed over. This can either be a nice t-shirt or tank to layer with cardigans, scarves or necklaces. Many times the focus is put on that one significant piece such as a jacket or jewelry and the most important layer (the base layer) is overlooked. You can find solid color tank or t-shirt pretty much anywhere. The versatility of a good base layer cannot be compared to any other article of clothing, it is truly a must have for any classy lady. a falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes.

In my previous post about aviator jackets (here) I usedBurberry's aviator jacket as an example, and although I would love to buy the Burberry jacket, the $3,500 price tag isn't exactly what I can afford. So I foundan alternative! H&M (love this place!) has a similar aviator jacket out and it is only $49.99! I'll post some pictures of it below!

it's the bomb

Why not stand out some this fall and winter in my current favorite trend for jackets; the bomber jacket! These jackets are super chic and look incredibly warm. Both of these pictures are of Burberry's aviator bomber jacket, j'adore! I definitely think this look will be a popular trend this year!

Geek Chic Glasses

Although when I first thought of this trend I imagined the only type of person who would wear these were the teen boppers who saw their teen celebrity idols wear them, but I can now say I love the trend! Its so nerd chic! And it doesn't have to look like your trying to copy a celebrity in wearing them, as long as you pair them with a classy outfit, such as a blazer or a button-up shirt. The prices for these little puppy's range from 12$ to 500$- but anything that matches your personal style and budget is best! But a little f.y.i. dont go with big clunky thick-rimmed glasses or huge 1980's round glasses- they look trashy not nerd chic.

a mirror of madness

School is difficult, it really is. I am not talking about the never ending extent of hormone induced drama by the young and old alike, I am talking about the ever present pressure to look alike. Have you ever noticed it? Walking through the hallways of my school I see mini clones of the typical high school student, fully outfitted in American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch and Hollister. I hate how much the general population is over obsessed with brands, let me say it right now, you are NOT fashionable if your entire outfit is from any of the three stores written above; you are only a follower.

Every time I first walk through those doors in the morning I feel as if I am being judged for what I am wearing, because I wear no brands. I am not an advertisement. I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars to be a walking billboard. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not a wannabe hippie who never wears new clothes and only wears "vintage" clothing. I will wear brands, as long as they are not plastered with advertising, because that is simply ridiculous.

Hello, welcome to my blog.
